Legends are that for a reason. They are the true exhibit of the human potential, they remain who they are no matter what the day brings and keep true to their path. Sandy Roberton, my mentor, rock 'n roll Dad, manager for my Producer work, teacher, and partner in managing groups has passed. The news is hard because you expect such Legends to be superhuman and live forever. There are people you meet and they can come and go, it is a cycle of actual life, social circumstance and it's ok. With Sandy, he was with me. I never felt like our professional relationship and family bond was a fleeting moment, once you were with Sandy, you both had something, and to be in his thoughts, being in his brain as he searched for ways that I could grow is a gift that will be with me forever. All of his staff at Worldsend, Berverly Martel, and team at I AM SOUND, bands, writers, and producers he coached and championed, we all share this, WE ARE THE LEGACY OF SANDY ROBERTON. For me, Being a compassionate human, giving my all in record making and loving my family is all I can continue to do to honour my part in being his Legacy. Sandy passed earlier this week while I was in sessions. Like a dedicated pupil of his, I carried on with the recordings with all the fire I could. Sandy taught me many things... To... "Try harder, do not complain, understand I am a part of any puzzle, focus on the positive, do not say ill words about others, stay creative, be hungry for knowledge, listen more" The list can go on, for Sandy, these words meant it all, his life in the world and world of music from the 60's-now made him see all things with such clairvoyance. In life we meet people, we love some!! Thank you Sandy for believing in me, and being my teacher, friend, tough coach, and my hero. Love u always Your Texan son -me
