Making the “Museum Issue” during the quarantine sounds impossible but POPEYE pulled it off✨ We featured some museums while gathering unique knowledge from all genres (mostly related to nature and history) including lots of interviews and columns. The issue is edited from Popeye’s unique point of view and this issue is like a “POPEYE Museum” itself. One of my favorite sections is titled “minerals”. I interviewed movie director Josh Safdie about the black opal in the movie “uncut gems”. The BTS story of how they created the huge black opal block with real stones was as breathtaking as the movie itself. I love the storeis about Cinnabar from the movie LUPIN THE THIRD & the kryptonite in Superman too! We also featured Tom Sachs’ museum rules, Daiki from Engneered Garments’ favorite museums and ecology of NY pigeons by Pat McCarthy plus so much more! The conversation with Japanese astronaut Mamoru Mohri is also interesting. I had so much fun on this journey of knowledge. #popeyemagazine #museum 今出てるポパイの博物館号。”誌上博物館”というコンセプトで読み応えたっぷりな一冊です。特に『鉱物』のセクションはポパイらしい切り口で楽しいページ。ここで今をときめく若き映画監督サフディ兄弟のジョッシュ(兄の方)に最新作『アンカット・ダイアモンド』で鍵となるブラックオパールについて聞きました。とにかく多すぎる障害と様々な人を説得してようやく理想的なあのオパールの石を作るまでの裏話が、映画と同じくらい手に汗握る展開。Netflixで今その彼らの映画が観れるので是非。主演はアダムサンドラー。その他トム・サックスの博物館へ行く時のルールやEngineered garmentsの大器さんの好きな博物館、鳩愛好家のパットに聞く鳩の生態(鳩は雛にミルクをあげるのがなんと父鳩の仕事)などなど、知の旅に導いてくれること間違いなしの一冊です。#ポパイ #博物館
