Just imagine taking this!! The Mount Lowe Railroad existed from 1893 until 1938 and was the only scenic mountain, electric traction railroad ever built in the US. From a station on the corner of Lake Ave. and Calaveras St. in Altadena, sightseers could take an almost 7-mile journey up into the mountains — ending at Ye Alpine Tavern at the base of Mt. Lowe.
