Words not coming easy. Hamish was a real one. An artist, through and through. Lyrical in every way. Long before our paths crossed I was a kid in the Midwest obsessed with Flying Nun, my favorite from the label was the jangle driven band The Clean. Hamish had so much style, set himself apart as a drummer. Years later when we played together in NYC I witnessed his magic, it was powerful. We both loved TVPs and when Dan Treacy fell sick we wrote him a letter and sent him a cover of 14th floor. Hamish crashed at my apt in ridgewood from time to time and would bring me his drawings, paintings and music. I don’t think he ever realized how much I admired and respected him. Hamish was so humble, so gentle, so curious and full of life. We went to the depths in conversation, he was so conscious of humanity, so benevolent in his nature, so rich in his spirit. I adored him. He was one of one. He impacted my life. Rest east sweet friend 🖤
