SKINCARETOPIC: Supergoop Dupe???
Could there be such a thing as a “dupe” to Supergoop’s legendary Unseen sunscreen? First off, to keep things straight...Supergoop is a dupe to the OGs like Paula's Choice Skin balancing SPF and Murad's Invisiblur...
Where they're Similar:
- Active Ingredients: (3% avobenzone, 12/8% homosalate, 5% octisalate , 6/4% octocrylene)
- SPF 40, Supergoop has PA +++
- Other Ingredients: silica, jojoba esters, shea butter, tocopherol
- Water resistant for 40 minutes
- ZERO WHITE CAST
- 1.7 oz
- Both have silicones (isododecane and silicone cross polymers) which gives you that primer/satin/silk-y, pore-blurring finish we all love
Differences
- $9 vs $36
- Close ingredient list, not identical.
- lmk if you felt this way but I felt like the TJ’s facial sunscreen came 1/3rd empty... or is this just me? Also, did they f%*@ up the spelling of the ingredients and place a sticker over it 🫡🥴
- Supergoop contains diatomaceous earth that gives it that gritty texture and absorbs oil > matte finish
- To me, Trader Joe’s is a little bit tackier > more play time, and possibly maybe just maybe a little thicker compared to the Supergoop which dries down faster.
☀️ Bottom line: for the price point- I think it’s a solid dupe. There is something I can’t quite put my finger on ...I feel like the Supergoop is more lightweight when using two finger length but the price of TJ’s can’t be beat. Also both of these are amazing options for those with facial hair 🧔🏻♂️
