I first saw this line at the 2016 @arcteryxacademy when I climbed @tomhwright ‘s ‘Spirit of the West’, which is, without question one of the best 5.14s in Canada. At the time there was this wildly blank neighboring project also envisioned by Tom • fast forward to last year, @fikemoley made the first ascent and @ben.harnden shortly after. Once I heard that news I knew I had to come back to try it. It’s so rare to find granite this good, so consistent, so uninterrupted and totally natural at 14d. I was definitely intimidated after only climbing in caves for, what seems like years, to come back to technical granite but the transition was surprisingly fun. It made me miss the vertical (less horizontal) world! Last Thursday I climbed the impeccable ‘Spirit Quest’... What an absolute joy.
