Japonisme - a theme I love but often times can be rendered clumsily by people enamoured with a fantastical idea of East-West synergy. At @fendi #FendiCouture @mrkimjones really paid homage to Kyoto tradition from the beautiful kata yuzen fabric panels to the kintsugi effect sequin dresses and then the beautiful acer leaf embroidery on the tulle floating dresses. It was a pure beauty end note to Paris and in that white space, all I could think about was “Urgh, I miss Japan 💔.”
