I am STUNNED. But, I am not SURPRISED. I am tired of the violence. I am tired are the animosity. The mistrust. I am tired of hostility toward a neighbor. I am tired of human beings being shot. We are erasing futures - do we not realize this? I am desperate for a change - to save life...to preserve life. Our friends lives, our neighbors lives...our children LIVES! I just gave an impassioned speech to my staff yesterday, about the importance of the idea of America - that for all of our problems there is the belief that we can come together and be greater. Every day that belief is tested by the sound of a gun shot in someone’s ear, and a headline across the screen. Please wake up. We need to prove that the idea is righteous, right now. Not tomorrow, right now. We need to prove that here in our own country, not somewhere else. Right here. Right now.
