Here are some skincare tips I wish I knew earlier ✨🤍 (Pause to get a screenshot) 1. Wash your hands before beginning your skincare. You don’t want nasties to be on your skin, would you now? 🦠 2. Sunscreen is non-negotiable. Use it everyday, even when you’re not headed out! Your future self will thank you later. Without it, you’re basically throwing your skincare routine out the window. 💸 3. Resist popping your pimples/blemishes! It almost always leaves a scar. ☹️ Get a professional aesthetician to do so if you must. 4. Makeup wipes are a no-no! 😠 It’s so harsh on our skin and on our planet earth too! 5. Double cleanse every night! 🌝 Get out all of the sunscreen and gunk on your skin before bed. Truly a life changing step. 6. Remember to patch test new products. Especially if it is an active! 🥵 7. Normalise pores, texture and acne/blemishes. You’re a human being. It is absolutely okay to not have ‘glass skin’. 💎 8. Chemical exfoliation shouldn’t be done every single day. Had to learn the hard way! 😫 Maybe start from 1-2x a week or do it every alternate day if you’re confident. 9. No matter how tired you are, always remove makeup before you snooze. ❌ 10. Retinol is a god tier skincare ingredient. 💯 Start off at a low percentage, invest in a reputable brand. Definitely worth spending on. 11. Apply humectant (hyaluronic acid, glycerin, panthenol etc.) products onto damp skin, not dry skin. 💧 This helps to draw in more moisture. 12. Be consistent with your skincare. Keep it simple, it doesn’t have to be a 10 step routine! A little goes a long way! 💕 13. When your skin is acting up, it’s mostly caused by a damaged skin barrier. Your skincare should revolve around barrier strengthening/repair. Works like a charm! ⚡️ Skincare is a journey you’ll never regret embarking! 🌸 #skincaretips #skincareroutine #skincaretips101 #skincarelover #skincareaddict #skincarejunkie #skincarejourney #skincarereels
