It is both surreal and profoundly somber spending September 11th in New York City, a mere block from One World Trade Center. Twenty one years later, we still grieve the 2,977 lives lost as though it was yesterday. Every year 9/11 falls during Fashion Week, and each year I find myself in awe of the resiliency of this city and its people; even in the face of great sadness, there is rebuilding to do, art to make, and joyful moments to savor. Thank you @marni for an unforgettable evening and show under the Brooklyn Bridge, set to the music of The String Orchestra of Brooklyn as the twin lights from the 9/11 Memorial lit up the skyline. Even for an introvert like me, it felt so good to be living fully with a crowd of strangers. Here’s to living fully as the greatest act of rebellion against individuals who would harm us ❤️ And may we #NeverForget the brave men and women first responders who sprung to action 21 years ago today, sacrificing their lives and health to save others.
