There is the family you are born into (who I love dearly) and there is then the family you cultivate. Both types of families face tests and challenges. This past Thursday we (my extended fam) attempted to show the @pyermoss Couture 1 collection at Madam CJ Walker’s Estate but God made it rain. Rain that, on the sabbath, brought upon unity, teamwork, perseverance, a renewed energy, support from community, love, and yes, flowers. My beautiful Mother, unbeknownst to my stress, sent me a gospel song that reminded me to stand still. I listened and let come what may. It set the tone for how we would eventually push through what could have been a disastrous situation. Our community gave us another chance & I hope we didn’t disappoint. Thanks to everyone who held us down and showed up.
