Tonight I marked thirty years and 30 is a big number wether we choose to believe it, lean into it or hide behind it, 30 is arguably the first defining year of adulthood. And with 30 comes the pressure to live up to what we believe adulthood is. And while I feel very comfortable with this new number I do recognise every version of Lucy, Luz, Lucina that ultimately made up the version of the girl in this photo. When I was in high school me and my best girlfriends would rapid fire ask each other three words that came to mind the last minute of our birthday and here are mine : Proud, Determined and Confident. I know who I am and I look forward to learning more about myself; growing up is not an easy ride but it is fun. To everything that was and to everything that is ... Here’s to 30. I’m ready x
