This week, I had the incredible opportunity to visit Michigan and meet several members from the @generalmotors communications teams. Working virtually the whole summer as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Communications intern, I didn’t have the chance to interact with anyone in person. Even last summer, there were few opportunities for in-person engagement. Hearing about the beautiful state of Michigan for over a year, it was surreal to experience it—the food, people, and good times. Throughout the week, I drove a Hummer EV through mud and off-road tracks, toured Factory Zero, and had dinner with Craig Buchholz! I am grateful I met with fellow communications interns—Maria Alejandra Segura Betancourt (Alex), Logan McDill (amazing chauffeur), Paul Nasr, and Colleen Condon. We gave our final group and idividual presentations. I am proud of the work we have accomplished this summer. Happy #nationalinternday to the greatest internship program of all time. Special shout-out to Alex for doing an amazing job moderating the Super Slice with Mary Barra. She mentioned my name during the event, so Mary knows my name now!
