It went down last Saturday at @vkocfl! @acroyoda set up a full day of fun at #VirginiaKey to showcase the beauty of the space. Local government recently rushed a decision with a commissioner flipping his vote after activists left (classic Miami politics), that #VirginiaKey would be the location for the development of housing for the homeless. This would essentially segregate the homeless onto an island 6 miles away from public services like food banks and job training, while simultaneously destroying multiple ecosystem restoration projects, a network of mountain bike trails, and the @vkocfl which hosts paddle boarding, education, and restoration projects. #savevirginiakey
