Behind the Scans from Sierra Nevada, USA 📷 Our scanning team visited the expansive mountain range of Sierra Nevada that lies on the west coast of the US between the Central Valley of California and the Great Basin. The aim was to scan the ‘Temperate Coniferous Forest’ biome, which is found predominantly in such areas of warm summers and cool winters with a massive variation in plant life. Sierra is home to three national parks, twenty wilderness areas, and two national monuments. These areas include Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon National Parks; and Devils Postpile National Monument. This expedition fit in perfectly with the Quixel team’s ‘biome’ capture initiative to scan and document terrestrial biome environments and capture the outstanding biodiversity available. Our team scanned a wide range of assets including small rocks, larger rock formations, surfaces, vegetation, and foliage, and also two very unique species of pine trees. Expect all these fresh assets in the Quixel Megascans library!
