Lantos Foundation President Dr. Katrina Lantos Swett is in Budapest this week for the opening of the Carl Lutz Society exhibit "A Sanctuary in the Storm”. It is installed by the incredibly moving and powerful Shoe Memorial on the banks of the Danube, where thousands of innocent Jews lost their lives during WWII. The exhibit tells the story of Carl Lutz’s heroic rescue of the Jews of Budapest. He, like Raoul Wallenberg, has been recognized by Yad Vashem as Righteous Among the Nations. Photo credit: B.
