Maison Dada & Leblon Delienne are setting up at the SAMARITAINE for two months starting this September 3. The 200m2 pop-up store designed by French Designer Thomas Dariel offers a unique decor based on a the concept of upcycling: indeed 100% of the elements used in the installation were either surplus or unwanted waste materials which the designer repurposed, while giving them a new function. They are sourced in local recycling stores and painted at Leblon Delienne Manufacture all in Normandy. The design editor Maison Dada and the sculpture workshop Leblon Delienne are two French houses that have been interacting for the past years through Thomas Dariel the co-founder and Art Director of Maison Dada and his partner Delphine Moreau. Juliette de Blegiers, owner of Leblon Delienne, has invited him to creation several collections for Leblon Delienne including the Sparkling Mickey and the Cosmic Mickey that founded a large success in France and Internationally, including in Asia, the favorite playground for Thomas Dariel who lived more than ten years in Shanghai. Since then, both houses are regularly exhibiting together at the Paris Design Week with the last edition in 2021 that was celebrated with the Presidential visit of French First Lady Brigitte Macron along with Mobilier National’s President Hervé Lemoine. Maison Dada creations count among the permanent collection of Mobilier National. It has been awarded 2022 Best Young Editor by Ideat magazine, and is a key player in the French Edition, Thomas Dariel being the President of the mouvement at the Syndicate Ameublement Français and impulsing new projects such as a Museum exhibition in 2023.
