That's us. 🌍 In 2021, European Space Agency astronaut Thomas Pesquet captured this video of an aurora while aboard the International Space Station (@iss) during his Expedition 65 mission. The brilliant, glowing lights danced across our planet last August. The aurora borealis and aurora australis — also called the northern lights and southern lights — occur at Earth's northern and southern poles. Observing auroras from the ground and from space gives scientists insight on how our planet's magnetosphere reacts to the space weather near Earth.” Video Description: Earth as viewed from the International Space Station.
