Yesterday before heading to the Hollywood Bowl to host I decided to make a stop at the Denny’s where my grandpa and I use to hang and share a meal together when he was with us. It dawned on me across the street is where I met my dad for the first (and only time) at Los Burritos. He was fresh out of prison and I picked him up from a transitional living program. I didn’t dig his energy and his explanation wasn’t acceptable. I paid the bill, we left and I never called him again. It is what it is. I finished my chicken strips, thought about the magic on this corner and went on my way. Life is funny.🤷🏻‍♂️
