BROKE, in mid-hindsight this song did magic. i knew it would change everything when i wrote it almost a year ago. at the time thought that meant a viral tiktok or sumn HAHA but no, bigger. set off a chain reaction that put my life into my own hands and backed me into a corner so i could finally see the whole room (quote courtesy of @ogden) finally left the garage. got some writers block bad. fell in love, traveled a bunch, ate some eels. freestyled. wrote some emails, changed my passwords. briefly considered getting a job (i’m sorry) broke started in the ol garage and ended up as a live recording with the band. first time capturing REAL energy. it was electric. then shot a mf MOVIE in the mark’s providential junkyard with the dream video team fuck the suits. produced it, mixed it, directed it, edited it, did the merch, cause no one else gonna do it like me. i know who i am learned to tattoo myself and stick n poked the logo from my very first band circa 2014. that’s when it started for me, but in reality i’m just beginning now. prologue OVER. i’m psychotic being broke is a mindset and i’m happy this song is a time capsule i can look back on instead of having to live thru any longer. thanks for being here quit your day job -mbk
