Thanks to the bee-autiful weather this ☀️summer☀️, The Bee Conservancy is out and about, buzzing 🐝🐝🐝 around New York City! Our Bee Sanctuary at the @statenislandzoo recently hosted a Pollinator Palooza packed full of educational, and delicious, goodies. Two live hive dives helped show kids and adults alike the intricate and fascinating lives of honey bees. A huge thank you to Carmine and Linda Feola (pictured in Slide 4 with our Executive Director Rebecca Louie), members of our amazing Staff Beekeeper Program, for helping to manage this site and event! Then, our Chief Melittologist and Founder, Guillermo Fernandez and Lillian Reyes, from @greenthumbnyc, taught visitors at Brooklyn’s Roosevelt Houses Garden in Brooklyn about the benefits of pollinators in gardens and how to plant the right flora to keep them coming back for more.
