Sharing a space with her while she’s at the “peak of her powers” (@nytimes’ wording, not mine 😌🔮🪄) was something I’ve waited my whole life for. (It was my sixth time seeing her, but it was different.) My mom pegged her as ‘the Madonna of your generation’ when she first hit the scene. We used to wait for her to show up at every red carpet and watch every award show performance. That level of drama is what she served at the Mayhem Ball.
