💡LIFE UPDATE💡 Honored and humbled to announce that I have joined Medtronic, the world’s largest medical device company, as the first Chief Medical Officer of GI worldwide. In this role, I will help drive innovation and bring new diagnostic and therapeutic technologies to address unmet patient needs globally. Guided by a visionary President, I am now part of a leadership team working with our global functional leads, where I will be mapping future research direction and new/experimental product development with R&D, developing regulatory strategy and interfacing with regulatory bodies worldwide (FDA, etc), supporting clinical trial design/interpretation/reporting, working closely with the top GI key opinion leaders around the world, helping ensure device quality and patient safety, evaluating potential partnership/growth opportunities with business development, and help expand access to medical knowledge and new technology to other parts of the world. I am grateful to also report that I will still maintain my faculty position as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Director of Bariatric Endoscopy of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and Chief Medical Social Media Officer of the Jefferson Health system. Thanks to both Jefferson and Medtronic for see value in cultivating a rare, hybrid role. Finally, I am grateful to be presented with an exceptionally rare opportunity like this at this stage in my career. I am committed to work even harder to learn/innovate/advocate in this new chapter.
