The J. Paul Getty Museum is returning a group of culturally significant sculptures to Italy after the pieces of art were determined to have been illegally excavated and exported.
The nearly life-size terracotta figures known as “Orpheus and the Sirens” — some of the museum’s greatest antiquities — will be sent to Rome in September.
Learn more about the pieces of art dating back to 350–300 BC at the link in our bio.
