I appreciated the opportunity to meet last week with Belgian PM @alexanderdecroo for a discussion on conflict-related sexual violence, including accountability and prevention. I emphasized the need to support survivors throughout their recovery process, highlighting the recent launch of the Murad Code as a guide on ethical documentation practices that prevent re-traumatization. Regarding Yazidis, we discussed the plight of the community and the need for long-term, sustainable solutions to help Yazidis in Iraq recover from the trauma of genocide, sexual violence, and protracted displacement.
