Day 17 post double mastectomy! Drains are out ✔️Took my 1st 🚿 ✔️ And the big news: This T-Rex 🦖 can do her own hair! Recovery is slow and challenging. I thought I’d feel “normal” without the drains. I thought my first shower would be heaven. Instead, it was terrifying. The sight of stitches, blood, bruising, swelling...freaks me the hell out! (Big 🧡 to doctors + nurses!) And I hate having physical limitations. I thought I’d miss the gym, but really, I miss being able to reach for my own coffee mug. What’s helping? Leaning hard into my own Fully Charged strategies. ⚡️🔋 I’m writing thank you notes to everyone who has shown me kindness, finding ways to give back by donating books and clothes, connecting with old friends, filling the house with flowers...and I’m getting #strongereveryday 💖 Please tag #breastcancer warriors who inspire you.
