I finally got a chance to play with my new @patmcgrathreal Mothership X: Moonlit Seduction palette! 🌕🌚 Here are 3 simple looks to test all of the shades. H/t @xandernn7 for the extraordinary musical selection ✊🏿🙏🏿🤗 I was particularly curious about how this palette would fare on (1) dark skin and (2) wrinkly eyelids. Re: dark skin, I think you have to appreciate an icy, ethereal look to get full use of this palette if you don't always want to pull in alternative eye bases and liners. The shimmers are all light, so a basic look (a crease shade or two and a shimmer or two) is going to give a somewhat icy effect every time. I wish there were at least one deeper shimmer in this palette and would have swapped out Platinum Dusk for a deeper taupe for greater versatility. Re: wrinkly eyelids, I prefer smoother pigmented metallic shades over the sparkly toppers that seem more on-trend and that are prevalent in this palette. (I could go into detail about why smoother pigmented metallics work better for my hyperpigmented wrinkly eyelids but sparing you that for now.) This palette only has one shade I'd classify as a full-on metallic with enough heft to give coverage (Platinum Dusk). So, keep in mind how well those gorgeous twinkle-effect shades work with your lid concerns. Random additional thought: This isn't Divine Rose IV; it's Bridgerton III.
