It has not been an easy journey to say the least. Last year when I started contacting all the manufacturers to make shades for brown skin, no manufacturer had produced them at the time, not even a sample but we found one that saw the vision (and money) and was willing to put in the work to have them made. Fast forward to a year later (and many, MANY samples later), it seems everybody and their mama has the same storyline. Despite having first launched many of the colors that are now being used by others after I worked hard (and spent money) to have them developed and now be made available in the market. Not only are other brands using the same shades I had made (and first to name in this space i.e. Caramel and Honey), there have also been at least 6 stores to date using stolen content from Melanin Fleece Tights. Despite all the challenges behind the scenes, knock-offs and literal copycats, we keep pushing forward!
