You would be so lucky to have the courage to love the way my community loves. I’ve photographed nyc queer spaces since 2017. I’m photographing my friends, lovers, artists and activists I respect that give so much of themselves to create a safe space for us to love. I’d be lying if I didn’t say how hyper aware of exits. That I am brainstorming exit plans if god forbid a gunman entered these spaces. How id use my camera as a weapon if needed. I refuse to let this disgusting hate destroy what beautiful community leaders like @ambervalentinenyc @itsadair_ @_elosi @funkyreggaehouseparty @morbidtheclown @roze_royze and so many more have cultivated. I experience too much joy in these spaces to allow broken people to steal it from us. And I also understand how we all can take turns to show up and to rest to fight another day.
