More often than not, a downsize is an upgrade...and that is definitely the case for my new, updated, upgraded touring pedalboard. With the Kane Brown tour happening in the Spring, a lot of fly dates to finish up the year, and a schedule filled with festivals next year, the thought of dragging around a large pedalboard was just not appetizing anymore. So in this case, less is more! The board is a Pedaltrain Classic JR. As before, my trusty Gallien-Krueger Plex preamp is the epicenter of the operation, serving as my tone center, effects loop, and backup DI. The signal comes in from my wireless into my Boss TU-3 tuner, then to my Origin Effects Cali 76 compressor, then into the Plex. My effects loop has been narrowed down from 7 pedals to just 3. My Line 6 HX Stomp handles the majority of my effects and IRs, most of which are preset bundles I downloaded from the brilliant @shinybass. The only other effects pedals left on my board are my trusty Darkglass B3K overdrive and the world-famous EBS OctaBass octaves pedal. Finally, I use the Radial Hotshot pedal as a toggle between my vocal microphone and a talkback to the boys onstage through our in-ear monitors. Both my cable loom and the patch panel on my board were brilliantly constructed by my pals at BTPA, which includes a power-con connector that powers both my Yankee pedal power supply and the proprietary power supply for the HX Stomp. All my patch cables are made by Pig Hog and Ernie Ball.
