1993 Excalibur Roadster This car belonged to my father for over a decade. I remember the when he bought it and I laughed and thought it was ridiculous. I wondered how he could have bought such a flashy car. For years I saw my father enjoy this car and take it to car shows all over. He would win awards that made him prouder than any my brother or I ever did as kids. T Unlike so many car collectors who store their cars and never take them out, my father drive this one all the time. The attention this car receives is unbelievable. People smile when they see it and everyone wants a picture. The car became mine and my brothers when my father passed away last October. The craziest thing was how quickly I knew we would never sell this car. I immediately got it to a safe place and had it all detailed. I realized this car was part of my father and would keep me connected to him. When I take it out for a ride I can feel my dad in the car. It’s not an expensive car. Although it sure looks like it would be. But for me it’s priceless.... I learned a very valuable lesson. What might seem odd or funny to someone can mean so much to someone else. Knowing how much my dad loved this car makes me love it also. His happiness with the car has passed on to me. It’s so important to cherish the time we have. To make memories and to witness and share with our loved ones their joys and passions as well. In the end that’s all we have. The memories we make together stay with us forever. The gifts that are left for us whether it be a car, a pocket knife or a family vacation home all keep us connected to those we have lost. I have learned many lessons in my life but the experience of losing a parent has been the toughest. it’s also made me really understand to not sweat the small stuff. To have big goals and big dreams and work hard every day to live my best life. With purpose and passion. I hope we can all take some time to slow down and make more memories with those we love. For you dad... Thanks for everything, even this ridiculous car.
