📢 Excited to announce that after a few rounds of interviews, I have been selected to serve on the board of The Arts and Culture Commission. Thank you @cityofredmond @electangelabirney for giving me this wonderful opportunity. 💡 I'll be leading efforts to further the Vision for Arts & Culture Commission of Redmond. * Draft Policies, priorities, and plans for promoting, advancing, and maintaining art projects and programs; * Help in development of an annual arts and cultural calendar for the city, which shall include all relevant events and activities that are hosted by Redmond area art organizations and entities; * Encouraging the promotion of Redmond artists in City art projects by setting annual goals to be identified in an arts and cultural plan to be approved by City Council; * Encouraging citizen input and involvement in the design and selection of artists for public art projects and programs. 🎉 Organizing and promoting public art projects and programs that celebrate the city and its unique cultural heritage. 📅 Coordinating with the private sector (Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, and other corporations in the area) and other governmental agencies in promoting arts and cultural excellence as a tool for the encouragement of economic development, business relocation and tourism. I believe The Arts and Culture Commission is a catalyst for the arts, and I will work on advancing the roles of the arts in the lives of individuals and communities not only in Redmond but throughout the state. (This is a voluntary non-profit position)
