Release day is here for the remastered reissue of Solar Bridge, the debut LP from Emeralds. The trio — John Elliott (@imaginarysoftwoods), Mark McGuire (@thespiritskater), and @stevehauschildt — emerged from Ohio’s noise/drone scene in the mid-2000s as a fully formed entity radiating cosmic potential; Solar Bridge (2008, @hanson_records) was the first attempt to preserve it. Emeralds disbanded in 2013 after an inimitable five-LP run that embraced different qualities and vocabularies, but hearing where it started will always feel different.
