“Cream” on a cigarette break. —————————- As a portrait photographer, what I capture seems to exist somewhere between what I can see, and what I’m shown. The practice of approaching “unmet friends” is often more important than the technical aspects of cameras, which are actually quite simple to use if one follows Cartier Bresson’s advice on taking 100 photos a day until the camera, as an instrument, disappears. Beyond the technical, a photographer still needs something or (in my case) someone to see, to look at, to photograph.
