Did you know that CAL FIRE has six Type 1 Incident Management Teams (IMTs) and that while these teams are typically dispatched to large wildland fires, they respond to complex all-risk situations like hurricanes, floods, and other disasters? Examples of incidents when CAL FIRE IMTs were activated include the exotic Newcastle Disease, Loma Prieta earthquake, Lake Oroville Dam break, COVID Support, and the Northern and Central California floods of 1997, 1998 and 2003. Since 2010 CAL FIRE IMTs have been activated 146 times to Incidents across California. Team members, who specialize in command, finance, logistics, operations, and planning, are there to ensure that the emergency/disaster is mitigated in a safe, efficient, and fiscally responsible manner. #CALFIRE #IMTs #AllRisk #AllHazard
