For the last #TipTuesday of #NationalSewingMonth, we’re talking about feet! 👣 Here’s 6 commonly used presser feet and what they’re used for! 1- Buttonhole foot - Used to easily make buttonholes the size of a button. Perfect for various thicknesses of fabrics. 2- Overcasting foot- Allows thread to wrap around the edge of the fabric to prevent unraveling. Gives you an edging similar to that of an overlocker with just about any sewing machine. 3- Button fitting foot- Helps you easily attach buttons onto fabrics of any thickness 4- Monogramming foot - Designed for decorative stitching and for sewing out lettering and characters patterns in your machine. The foot has a groove on the bottom that allows it to ride over the more dense decorative or satin stitches so the fabric feeds freely. 5- Zipper foot- Used for inserting zippers as well as making and inserting piping or cording. It allows the needle to stitch close to a raised edge. 6- Zigzag foot - Comes standard with most machines and is used for most utility sewing, from straight stitch to zig-zag. Also known as the General Sewing Foot. Save this post to reference backt to and tag a sewing buddy in the comments below! 👇
