Snippets from the past few weeks, ending the year taking the biggest bite of all the different tastes this terrifyingly beautiful life has to offer: the sweet sweet swirling sugar rush highs, the twisting ache of the stomach from a wipe-the-tears-out-of-your-eyes laughing fit, and of course, the bitter notes left on the tongue and in the heart after a sour situation. A day shy of New Years eve, we said goodbye to someone in our family, and though we had ample time to make peace with the situation, nothing really prepares you for when life sweeps a loved one away. Here’s an essay I wrote earlier this year in a moment of full contentment, reflecting that it is with death in mind, that I feel incredibly alive. I can’t say that I wake up content everyday, but I do try to program it as my default modus operandi. I can’t wait for another year full of living and learning and indulging and learning to say I’ve had enough. And to all my friends, happy to be on this journey with you all by my side <3 !!!!
