“If I push my compass to the edge of imagination, I find myself connected with machines, with archives, with knowledge, and the collective memories of humanity.” — Refik Anadol
Artist Refik Anadol uses artificial intelligence to interpret and transform more than two hundred years of art at MoMA. From paintings to photography to cars to video games, the Museum’s collection represents a unique dataset for an artist who has worked with many different public archives in his practice.
Anadol has created digital artworks that unfold in real time, continuously generating new and otherworldly forms that envelop viewers in a large-scale installation now on view at MoMA.
A group of artists and curators sat down to discuss new ways of creating, sharing, and communicating about art around @refikanadol’s work. Read the discussion on #MoMAMagazine, link in bio.
