I used to be so annoyed with this song, cause I would always say - “Yes, she knew. Now shut up” 😂😂 But it’s easy for us to look back 2000+ years in hindsight and say “Yeah she knew, God sent the angel to come and tell her what God was gonna use her to do”, but how many times has God sent people to us to tell us what He would do with us — and yet we still either forget or don’t believe. Also, think about the isolation Mary went through - imagine someone coming up to you & saying “God got me pregnant.” They’d be an outcast from culture, church and family. “Mary did you know” isn’t only a song - it’s an encouragement to people who have lost sight of what God has put inside of them. It’s a reminder that what’s IN you is bigger than you. It’s not for you - it’s for generations yet to be born. Don’t allow people’s lack of understanding or ignorant labeling of a season to make you give up. He is with you & He’s inside of you. This is what this season is all about - the incarnation. Jesus is in US. Not just with us, but inside of us. His spirit. ❤️ Ask yourself today - “Do I know?”
