Our sisterhood is what makes Kappa Kappa Gamma such a special place ❤️ This week, Kappa recognizes Eating Disorders Awareness Week (EDAW), a cause we hold close to our hearts. This week is about raising awareness, breaking the stigma, and standing in unwavering support of those affected by eating disorders.
Mental health is at the core of our philanthropy, and EDAW is a powerful reminder that strength comes from vulnerability and healing is possible with support. As a sisterhood, we are dedicated to creating a space where every woman feels seen, valued, and uplifted, because no one should ever feel alone in their journey.
A message from sophomore Layla,
"As someone who has battled with an eating disorder, getting to represent NEDA through this incredible Kappa Community has and continues to mean the world to me. Every day is hard and it takes a lot of consistent work and determination to see the light on the other side. Having a family like KKG always supporting me to put my best self forward has continued to motivate me to stay strong. To me, this week reflects on a dark time that I am now able to celebrate and reflect on what I have achieved since the day I decided to choose recovery. It hurts my heart that people still struggle by themselves every day, but at the end of the day, we all have something to offer and that has nothing to do with what we look like, but instead who we are inside. So this week, let’s continue to support our growths, remember our hardships, and find strength in one another to keep moving forward."
