Here are a few photos of me being my absolute, truest self—a self that has poured over 35 years into one singular passion: dance. It was love at first sight, and what a wild romance it’s been! Dance has been my faithful partner, my greatest love, and occasionally, my heartbreaker (and neck-breaker, too). Every year, I feel a bit further from that love as my body reminds me it’s no longer the spry, boundless machine it once was. It’s like experiencing a mini-death each time I acknowledge that my days of dancing eight shows a week on Broadway are likely behind me. But here’s the thing: I will never stop dancing. Ever. Even as I transition away from the stage, I feel a profound gratitude for every single moment I had under those bright lights. Stepping onto a Broadway stage was more than a dream come true—it was my life, my heart, my soul. And I got to do it so many times over! Dance is, and always will be, a part of me.
