I don’t have the words to convey how completely thrilled I am about this. In some ways, I’ve been writing “One of Our Kind” in my head for most of my adult life. It's a psychological thriller—think The Stepford Wives (but Black) meets Get Out. It’s my most complicated, ambitious and philosophical book and it took me a long time to be a good enough writer to do it.
