I am sad, disgusted, and angry over how the Olympics made a mockery of Jesus and the Last Supper. If they had the slightest clue who Jesus actually was and understood the sacrifice he was about to make for them, mockery would not be the response. We had no other hope or option than for Jesus to become our sin and take on the judgement we deserved. But I’m also not surprised by this. This is what a godless culture promotes and values. The crowd mocked Jesus while he hung on the cross, and people still mock him today. They mock and belittle what they don’t understand because the god of this world had blinded them. What is needed is for followers of Jesus to be light in the darkness. To boldly proclaim the Good News of the Gospel. Even louder and more courageously to those who mock it.
