New Zealand, Aotearoa, the land of the long white cloud.
It’s beautiful, it’s vast, it’s home to lakes, rivers, glaciers, beaches and glorious mountains that in a few months time will be available again for all. How exciting, New Zealand will be open to the world again, after two long agonising years in the unknown.
I could spend hours upon hours writing about where to go and what to do in fact, I could probably fill your whole itinerary for you. There’s no doubt that the best way to see New Zealand is by campervan, road tripping around with no set time or destination is bliss.
I urge you to visit and hike under the watchful eye of our majestic and tallest mountain Aoraki, Mount Cook. I hope that everyone gets to visit Piopiotahi, Milford Sound and witness the magic first hand. Experiencing the black sand beaches in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland such as Piha and Karekare are a must do as is tasting the delicious Kai Moana, seafood in Kaikoura, you can hike iconic trails in Taranaki, and of course a visit to my home Tāhuna, Queenstown to see the mountains covered in snow and ready for you and your adventures, this should be high on your list.
However if you come here, when you come here I ask a favour. That you respect the land. That you look after our mountains, lakes and rivers. That you uphold the Tiaki Promise as we do. New Zealand is pristine, it beautiful and all that live and are lucky enough to travel has a responsibility to look after it.
Make the commitment with me for New Zealand and our nature, birds, animals and people to act as a guardians, protecting and preserving our home. I can’t wait to see the world again, and I can’t wait to see the beaming faces of those who get to see my home through their eyes.
Nau mai, haere mai ki Aotearoa. Welcome to New Zealand, again ❤️
