It’s been interesting starting a business this year. It’s the beginning of the road and who knows where it will go but like most things I’ve done in life I try to sense where I feel that pull, where I am being directed and make sure I’m going there from a place of positivity and connectedness and not through a sense of fear. When you talk about business in the climbing community people’s eyes roll. But I think that business can be just like climbing: an opportunity to step up, be a better person and learn things. Unlike climbing, starting a business has mostly involved hard graft at a computer. But through business I’m able to provide a service in the community, something I could never do just climbing for myself. So there are pros and cons to both. Right now I’ve got as much to learn as a gym climber on their first day on the rock but Strong Mind’s beginnings could not have been more positive and I feel excited and curious about where it will go.
