Wow, 20 years ago I joined the Cincinnati Reds as a professional baseball player. I had my dreams set on this career as a boy and at 18 years old, I took the first major step toward living it. When I look at these pictures they bring back fond memories. My Reds scout John Castleberry (grey sport coat) believing in me. My parents, Wendy and Joe, are reviewing the contract and aiding me along in the process. Of course, I could not have come close to that signing or the career I currently get to enjoy without them. I see a version of me that knew nothing. I just wanted to play ball and was in a dream the second I put the pen down. Little secret between us... inside me is the exact same kid as the one in that photo. I just want to play ball, and I’m still dreaming.
