One year ago James’ dad moved into New York City, closing the gap of our years of coparenting long distance. I told my friends for months leading up to his decision that he was going to do it, and he’d live four blocks away from us. When he signed his lease I finally mentioned this manifestation to him. He laughed and told me he only looked at two apartments, one four blocks above us and four under. The last year has been nothing short of magic. James and Nick have built something truly special, and I’ve gotten the chance to soar after years of being the dominant parent, a role I treasure deeply. I’d be crazy not to acknowledge this milestone, and as our lives gear up to change once again, as it always does, I’m beyond grateful for this season of life! What a ride! Grateful 🩷
