Time to Toot Ptown’s Horn: Feeling INCREDIBLY grateful that the Provincetown Community will be among the first in the nation to be fully vaccinated for monkey pox - especially in the light of Biden’s declaration that the outbreak is now a national emergency (though this is good since it means more $$$ + more action.) Yesterday, many of us here started receiving our second doses of the vaccination at Outer Cape. I’d like to give a major shout out to the community institutions and individuals from Town the ASGCC, Outer Cape that recognized very early on the implications this virus had for our friends, our businesses, and the local economy, especially in the wake of the pandemic. Senator Julian Cyr @juliancyr spearheaded the conversations that very quickly rolled into action. Nearly half the state’s vaccinations (at the time) were secured to protect our very special demographic. This is a case study for why LGBTQ+ representation in government is paramount and has a direct effect on our lives. Thanks so much to all who have been involved - we are lucky to live in a place that understands and protects its own.
