Learning more about prescribed fire together bolsters California’s capacity for preventing and fighting wildfires. Since 2008 Prescribed Fire Training Exchanges (TREX) have provided experiential training for a diverse array of firefighting, land management, and research entities both in California and across the U.S. These valuable exchanges help to build a robust local and regional capacity for prescribed fire management. CAL FIRE continues to support TREX as a valuable tool in developing new capacity for prescribed fire application, and land management networks that build and train prescribed fire burn teams.
