Honored to be apart of the @theccnyc creative class of ‘22 list. & what a list! I consider myself a cultural strategist, a term that I’ve found better encompassing of the work I aim to do & I think about this often so here’s my attempt to express it. I stand on tall shoulders facing a canon head on that deemed me invisible. No head starts. I work hard daily to create my own focused curriculum, with a bold intention to remember who we are & the multitude of ways we express ourselves. I do this work of learning while simultaneously creating new confidence and outcomes for the creatives that are practicing now. I chose to never forfeit the people to participate in the history of art. I bring them with me. To ultimately add to it. So what a great start to my black history month. Thank you again @theccnyc for this inspiring acknowledgment of my work.
